You may have spotted these scurrying along the streets of New York City, but probably not. The flowers of these plants look similar to Schlumbergera (Christmas cactus) flowers. As with all cactus, provide exceptional light and well draining growing media. This particular plant makes good Medusa hair in a head pot.
The native range of this species is E. Central Mexico. It is a succulent subshrub and grows primarily in the subtropical biome.
